Our Story
Our mission at Macquarie Performing Arts is to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes. We offer a unique experience in which the student will grow both mentally and physically as a dancer in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our highly trained and certified instructors have a wealth of experience in teaching and performing various styles and genres.
All staff at MPA have a current Working With Children Check. (WWCC)
MPA is located in West Ryde and offer professional training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Hip Hop and AcroDance.
Established in 1991 by the Principals, Lisa-Maree & Elizabeth Derby, MPA offer a happy and friendly environment for your children to thrive in as well as maintaining a professional and disciplined approach.
Dance is not only fun but promotes well rounded and confident individuals who are encouraged to reach their own individual potential. Whether you are a complete beginner or want to extend or further your training, we have classes to suit, from Pre School Combo Classes to the Advanced Pre Professional, there is something for everyone.
All our classes promote co-ordination, confidence and physical development. We teach our students the love and enjoyment of dance and we have no greater pleasure in seeing a young child blossom and grow in strength, posture and personality.
A selection of our students compete at Dance Competitions many of whom have gone on to compete and win in the Sydney Regional and Australian National Finals. MPA has had numerous Australian National Title winners in Solo, Duo/Trio and Group sections.
We pride ourselves in continually delivering excellent all round training which has enabled numerous pupils to go on to further their training at The Australian Ballet School, English National Ballet School, London Studio Centre and other local Full Time colleges. Many of our pupils have gone on to appear in Musical Theatre, Classical Ballet Companies or dance commercially with some of the biggest names in the industry all around the world.
Here at MPA, we have a passion for the art of dance and for helping others discover their inner dancer. Are you ready to get up and move? Contact us today to learn more about our studio.
